Going east of the county towards Xanthi, visitors come across the river Nestos. It is an excursion of great beauty and interest. The river starts in Bulgaria and ends into the Aegean Sea creating a natural paradise with 6 sea lakes, the great forrest of Kotza-Orman and a romantic valley (Stena of Nestos of 27 km length).
